SANTA ROSA (BCN)

Officers pursuing a vehicle in Santa Rosa Thursday afternoon eventually found two pounds of marijuana and over an ounce of methamphetamine for sale after the driver abandoned the vehicle, police said.

An officer attempted to stop a vehicle near West College Avenue and Stony Point Road around 3:36 p.m. Thursday for having expired tabs, according to Santa Rose police.

After the officer activated the overhead lights, the driver attempted to flee and a vehicle chase ensued.

The driver evaded officers in the area of Jennings Avenue near Marlow Road, police said.

While checking the area for the suspect, a citizen advised police that the driver went the Marlow Shopping Center, abandoned his vehicle and ran through a Round Table Pizza Parlor.

The driver has not been located, according to police.

Searching the vehicle, officers found two pounds of marijuana and over an ounce of methamphetamine.

Police are currently conducting an investigation into this incident. Anyone with information regarding this case should call the Santa Rosa Police Department at (707) 528-5222.
